1. Eternal lightning in Venezuela
Catatumbo lightning is a bizarre and unique natural phenomenon in the world. Located at the mouth of the river at Lake Maracaibo Catatumbo. This phenomenon is a cloud lightning that forms a “line” of flash along 5 kilometers, each 140 to 160 nights a year, for 10 hours each night, and more than 280 times in 1 hour. This could almost be called ‘permanent storm’. It has the intensity of lightning 400,000 amperes, and visible up to 400 km away. According to research, lightning collision occurred because the wind coming from the Andes. The lightning is also used as navigation by sailors.
2. The Rain of Fishes in Honduras
The Rain of Fishes is described in Honduran Folklore. However, It really happen in the Departamento de Yoro, between May and July. Witnesses said that this phenomenon began with dark clouds in the sky, followed by lightning, thunder, strong winds and heavy rain for 2 – 3 hours. After the rain stopped, hundreds of fish found living in the land. People take the fish and cook it. Since 1998, Rain of Fish Festival is celebrated every year in the city of Yoro.
